A New Baking Assistant

Upon going to visit the Commander before bed, she brought up the situation with Moira and baking and her ever present exhaustion. Cullen had been rather surprised at that, given that Moira put so much effort into her work and into helping everyone else, and agreed to immediately bring it up with Josephine in the mroning. After all, in his words, “it’s good for you to spend more time with people rather than just with the books. It’s all different kinds of work, and this one is with someone who is actually comfortable with you. Besides, I remember liked baking back in Honnleath.”

Maybe she had. Clarice didn’t remember anymore. 

In the morning, Clarice was called to a meeting with Josephine in her office, which apparently, Moira was also called to. She wore the same robes as the day before, though these ones didn’t have flour or soap on them. She stood in the corner, giving a nod when Moira entered the room. Josephine spoke gently when everyone was assembled. 

“Thank you all for coming. I’ve been informed, Moira, that the amount of work in the kitchen is taking a toll on you? I apologize for not having seen it before.”

        Lúcio ALMOST looked offended at first, as though she was refusing to answer the question, changing the subject matter - still,  he just laughs at her response, going back to braiding his hair.   “I wasn’t asking if you found me attractive,  just if I am or not. Bull’s eye was drawn to the qunari baker, and a smile spread across his face. He approached slowly, wondering to himself how he hadn’t noticed her before he left the Qun. By her stance, she wasn’t born under the Qun, which could explain a bit. Vashoth tended to be wary of those following the Qun.

Varric was writing a few letters after Adamant, sighing heavily and rubbing his forehead. Shit was hitting the fan, especially with Hawke being left in the Fade, and he felt he couldn’t concentrate. Alistair had gone back to inform the Ferelden Wardens of what had happened, the Orlesian Wardens were joining the Inquisition, and he had to be the one to tell Bethany and Merrill that Hawke was... gone.

“Ah, shit,” he mumbled to himself. “This sucks.”

✗ ; ——— Sleepy white eyes seemed to widen a bit as Moira bestowed upon her the miniature rolling pin, fingers brushing over the somewhat rough wooden surface. Her attention was then shifted to the assortment of metal cookie cutters, carefully picking them up as if they were made of glass. Star, flower, circle, heart…

     She looked up at Moira expectantly, head tilted. 

    “Thank you…”
