You’d think that in a place like this, where people were basically used to seeing burning wreckage, they’d have an easier time ignoring them. Apparently that wasn’t the case, though, if they were blocking the middle of the road. Thankfully not in the city, but close enough that he shouldn’t stick around until some kind of authority came to check out what happened.
The civilians weren’t really his concern, even if they had a came–– oh, he didn’t believe this.
What even was the chance of seeing her again?
“Can’t you take pictures of prettier things?” He knew her English was just fine, so he didn’t bother with anything else. “A few miles out there’s a crashed Huey, that I think is used as a playground now –– you know, nice stuff.”
Maybe she wouldn’t even recognize him after all this time.
