You Got The Love and Your Love: Deep House Classic
You Got The Love was my ‘gateway drug’, my path into Deep House and electronic music as a whole. I still think of it as Deep House, even if the rest of the world doesn't. Extrapolating further, it was this record that set me on a course to start writing about music, DJing and later exploring the nightlife centred around my favourite genres of music. Although, it always comes back to listening to the music and feeling the emotions it brings. Today, as much as ever. I'm unashamed to call this record, appreciated by so many, as the record that changed my life!
Over the years, it has been covered by Florence and the machine (remixed by Jamie XX), Mamacita and others!
Larry Heard Deep House Legend
Larry Heard is a Deep House legend.
He made Can U Feel It that basically invented Deep House. At the same time, he made Acid House bangers like Washing Machine.
Through his career, he has continued to make classics like The Sun Can't Compare.
In 2003, he played in Sheffield and his DJ set blew my mind.
Minimal doesn't have to be boring
And maybe this isn't minimal anyway
