Put Sam offline RIGHT NOW so she can go in the backyard
Hope you guys like weed puns.
Okay so I’m gonna write this very stream of consciousness so bear with me for a bit, see if you like it. I’m here today to talk about Jank [https://ohnoitsjank.bandcamp.com/], a colorful three piece of incredibly talented musicians playing “weed-pop”. Jank released Awkward pop songs in November of 2016, but it wasn’t until i went to see them in December that I actually gave it the listen it deserves. I went into this medley of mary influenced songs already familiar with some of the other projects of the members of Jank. Matt Diamond [little tyrant and panuccis pizza] blazes through these tracks with vocals and riffs to make you want to just dance until you fall asleep with one of the slower tracks. With his bright pink “Versace Summer” bass Ruben Polo [Secret Plot and Soul Glo] crafts a bassline through this album that’s so dank it could be medical. And topping off this ensemble is one of the most impressive and energetic drummers I’ve seen live, Sam Becht, rips through the drums throughout the entirety of Awkward Pop Songs. Don’t listen to Jank as something very serious, go into it as fun and lightly as possible, admire these talented musicians, and hell they have other more serious bands if that’s what you’re into. But from the minute Ouran High School Toast Club shrieked into my ears, and with a name like that, I truly knew that Jank was Dank. The songs are fun and maybe even aloof, considering one of the most popular songs Caitlyn does happen to be about an imaginary dog, but that’s what you should take them as. They burn perfectly through a fun, sing-a- long ensemble with tracks like The Hat Store and VVeed is Tight, and let you settle into what almost feels like an abduction with the closing of the album. You should roll into this album with all the intensity of a pillow fight, and have a little fun for once you miserable assholes. If you happen to live in the Philadelphia area you should try and catch them live, and if you don’t you’re in luck because they’re touring the East this August with Boy Rex [https://theboyrex.bandcamp.com/releases] and Donovan Wolfington [https://donovanwolfingtonmusic.bandcamp.com/]. From the two singles from their upcoming EP they released to benefit the community devastated by the PULSE tragedy, which you can get on their bandcamp, and the few lucky chances I’ve gotten to see these booty shakin’ weed poppers live, they’re about to blow the fuck up. Don’t sleep on Jank, cause weed is tight and so is doing things for the sake of fun.
Ok that's cool and all but where the fuck is Adam? Are we just pretending he doesn't exist again? Thanks Supernatural
