 The Unknown Artist of the Powder Snow   All of us know important freeskiers, such as Wallisch, Bobby Brown, Harlaut, Gus K., Sean Pettit, Torin Wallace, Thovex or Pep Fujas.  And other ones who are a bit less known such as David Wise (early gold medalist at SuperPipe in the XVI edition of Winter X Games at Aspen, Colorado in 2012), Ben Moxham or Tucker Perkins. But there isn’t anyone like Tim Durtschi over the powder snow. Born to ski, he reaches an Olympic level. Promising to be a star of the freeskier… Actually, he is a star of freeskier. Fresh air, mountains, freedom, having fun with friends and specially, powder snow. Spending hours with a shovel to get a jump which will only enjoy few seconds, just the time in the air after jumping. Three seconds? Four? Maybe five seconds? Stepping on the snow, riding between the trees, leaving the track, jumping and taking the world by storm. New tricks. Snacks to make a great day on-hill. Normal life if there is no snow, with family, at party, visiting Saga Outwear’s store, getting some offers from Atomic Skis, one of his sponsors. But as he tells to a Poor Boyz Production interview: “Skiing will always be the same with or without sponsors”. And this phrase is the model of what skiing is for pleasure. (Probably some bugs in the English translation. Sorry) El Artista Desconocido de la Nieve Virgen Muchos de nosotros conocemos a notables “freeskiers” como pueden ser Wallisch, Bobby Brown, Harlaut, Gus K., Sean Pettit, Torin Wallace, Thovex o Pep Fujas. Y otros quizá un poco menos conocidos como puede ser David Wise (reciente ganador del oro en la “superpipe” de la XVI edición de los Juegos X de Invierno celebrados en Aspen, Colorado, el 2012), Ben Moxham o Tucker Perkins. Pero no hay otro como Tim Durtschi para la nieve virgen. Nacido para esquiar, mantiene un nivel olímpico. Promete ser una estrella del freeski… Es una estrella del freeski. Aire fresco, montañas, libertad, un buen rato con los amigos y sobre todo nieve virgen. Pasa horas con una pala para conseguir un salto que solo disfrutara el tiempo que dure el vuelo. ¿Tres segundos? ¿Cinco? ¿Quizá seis? Pisar la nieve, surcar entre los arboles, dejar las huellas, saltar y devorar. Nuevos trucos que asombren, aperitivos que hagan comenzar el día con buen pie sobre la colina. Vida normal si no nieva, con la familia, de fiesta, pasándose un rato por la tiendas de Saga Outwear y recibiendo alguna que otra oferta de Atomic, unos de sus patrocinadores, pero como él dijo a una entrevista a Poor Boyz Productions: “El esquí siempre será lo mismo con o sin patrocinadores”. Y es que esta frase es la muestra de lo que es esquiar por placer.
