The Pretty Things - Love is Good (1972)
Maybe the album title explains the whole album. Freeway Madness? There aren’t freeways in the UK. Several years after SF Sorrow and Parachute, it seems like the Pretty Things were trying to conquer the U.S. with a more mainstream rock sound. The lyrics are pretty substandard (dumbing things down for Americans?), but Phil May’s vocals are still strong and I’m digging the lead guitar by new guitarist Pete Tolson. All in all this still a pretty cool song by a band long past its selling date.
