Roswaal saying people wish for a Hero when tragedies befall them then saying be it a “Sword Saint or Sage” makes me side eye his statement heavily.
Of course, the natural reasoning for the words here is regarding the famous story of the Three Heroes so connecting Heroism to these roles doesn’t seem weird on the surface.
But like. Roswaal was around 400 years ago & is connected to Echidna who I’ve said is heavily implied to have known Flugel. Im supposed to believe Roswaal never met Flugel even ONCE?
Roswaal 100% would’ve seen the World go to hell in real time as the Calamity unfolded so him associating the idea of a Hero when tragedy strikes with these two roles is very interesting with all these things I’ve said in mind.
More on Roswaal & Flugel here but Roswaal’s clearly got an English Alphabetic English name which I’ve pointed out isn’t something natural to the Re:Zero world and speculated it was a connection that implied he was tied to an Isekai’d person in some capacity.
All this just… makes me feel Roswaal did know Flugel a fair bit potentially? Doesn’t need to have been some deep relationship but I don’t think excluding the fact he knew the guy makes any sense with what I’ve scrounged together here.
Smaller closing note but the name Freibal is ALSO German continuing the Astrea trend of being named after a German which is quite strange that I’ve previously gone into depth on.
