Minutes for 2017-04-26
The party heads back to Dulcimer, planning to stop at Grandmother Owl's on the way. Near to where they think Grandmother Owl's home is, the party comes across a line of knee-high mushrooms blocking the road. As they draw close, a pulse seems to travel along the line. As Ceridwen gets close, it seems to whisper to her in Elven "to the left." Coll remembers the moss-covered trees which guided them to Grandmother Owl's.
The party follows a deer path around to the left, and after witnessing a number of arcane oddities, make it to Grandmother Owl's. She welcomes them in, and has a small half-elven boy, Frelja, serve them soup. She notes a party member's absense, and the new addition of T'odd, who Ceridwen introduces. The boy, on noticing Ceridwen, greets her in halting Druidic, and Ceridwen inquires about his studies.
After serving, Frelja returns to a back room. Mildred tries to see if Grandmother Owl remembers anything of Rak. Grandmother Owl notices the hole in her memory, and Mildred explains the fight with the demon. T'odd and Mildred try an experiment with the party's memory.
Mildred shows Grandmother Owl Efram Dogwood's Necronomicon, and she flips through it. She thinks he seems rather studious, maybe they should check the rolls of the nearby college.
Coll gives her fortune casting rubies.
The party starts asking about the animal-people near Dulcimer, and the werewolves in the city. Apparently they've been there for a long time. They work for House Vedani (the Baron's house) as muscle. Some other lycanthropes too - wererats and a werebear or two. Grandmother Owl thinks they're using the city to pen the people like livestock.
They ask her about
Delacroix/Renner ("is okay boy, I know his family")
Butch/Crenshaw ("he is in Silver Knife clan, no?" "Is he a werewolf?" "Oh, yes, yes").
Mayor Ludwin ("a fainting coward, the countess's little lapdog")
Countess Zither ("she was dealt bad cards, but she does okay. Zither family got screwed.") - apparently there's not much in Zithershire apart from Dulcimer.
Ceridwen tells Grandmother Owl about the Baron's nephew's bride from Galina, who apparently no one has seen. It's news to her.
