freq_wave (Pacific; Los Angeles) opens today 09.23.22. It is an immersive installation curated by Carl Michael von Hausswolff, which transforms the interior of the Hooker Telescope at Mount Wilson Observatories with a visual and sound installation. freq_wave was recently launched, which consists of seven on-line mixers, each mixer symbolizing a different ocean. Each mixer contains works in different frequencies by 12 different sound artists. They can be played separately, or in endless combinations. You can access it here JG Thirlwell is one of the contributing artists, and he has also created an exclusive mix of this project, which will be broadcast on Mike Harding's Long Wave radio show on Dublab Radio at 2pm PCT/5pm EST on August 14 2020. Mixes by Jim O’Rourke, Zachary Paul and Chandra Shukla will also be broadcast. The freq_wave project is curated by Carl Michael Von Hausswolff.

“freq_wave: seven seas” is a collaborative sound project comprising 84 sound artists creating for the Ocean.
Curated by Carl Michael von Hausswolff, co-curated by Alonso Alonso Vazquez and commissioned by TBA21-Academy, the project will is currently unfolding weekly on the online platform Ocean Archive.
