Nothing like a practice session to help you realize you’ve still got a way to go before becoming proficient in something. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to grow as a photographer, while documenting my second ever Fresh 48 session. It’s unlike anything else, because everything is new, everyone is raw, and being delicate becomes more important than getting the right shot. Also, moments, real moments don’t always happen in the right light. Speaking of light, the mixture of artificial and natural light pose a challenge, and often clash in creating unwanted shadows and skin discoloration. Amongst others things, I accidentally left my camera settings on jpg, which is a lesson I needed to learn now, rather than later; I guarantee that will never happen again! But I also learned to love this kind of a session, because it is real. I didn’t remove objects that were laying around, no pro makeup, no special outfits, just reality, happiness, candor, patience. Knowing when to back off is also a real factor in these sessions. No matter the excitement for the photos, you still want to experience to be pleasant, and when things go south, space is needed. You let the family do their thing, you try not to impose. Yeah, it’s a lot of little things...but I love Fresh48, and will practice it until I am able to deal with all of its challenges. Forever thankful for this experience, thank you @meghmuldoon & @coreymulgoon ♥️ . . . #nolabelsphotography #fresh48 #fresh48session #fresh48photography #newbornphotography #familyphotographer #pafamily #paphotographer #lehighvalleyphotographer #poconophotographer #nepaphotographer (at St. Luke's Hospital - Anderson Campus) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7_fFhIgVC1/?igshid=v7cf42y9eirg
