These scones are a delightful combination of fresh strawberries and peaches, perfect for a sweet breakfast or afternoon treat. The buttermilk adds a rich, creamy flavor to these tender scones.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1 tablespoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed. 1/2 cup buttermilk. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced. 1 cup fresh peaches, diced.
Instructions: Get the oven ready by heating it up to 400F 200C. Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Add the cold, cubed butter to the baking mix. You can use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it looks like big crumbs. While you're at it, mix the egg, vanilla extract, and buttermilk in a different bowl. Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and mix it in just a little. Add the diced strawberries and peaches slowly. Put some flour on a surface and roll out the dough into a circle that is about an inch thick. Place the dough on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Cut the dough into 8 equal wedges. The scones should be baked for 15 to 18 minutes, or until they turn golden brown. Let the scones cool down for a while before you serve them. Enjoy your Strawberry Peach Buttermilk Scones that you made yourself!
