Hi, you're probably majorly fucked up by now by Dr. Strange and even just reading the title, but I wanted to say that while I wasn't sure if I would go see the movie before it came out, your insights on the topic finally convinved me not to spend any money on it. I also discussed the problematic with my friends and we had a little controversy about the Rachel-McAdams-Character bc it seems that it isn't a recasting but a different character to the one in the Netflix series?

and i haven’t really gotten into the rachel mcadams controversy, but i think in the mcu claire temple was established to be night nurse (which appears to mean her character was a combination of the comic book characters night nurse, who was associated both with doctor strange and various defenders including daredevil, and claire temple, who was primarily associated with luke cage) however, now there’s apparently two night nurses running around.

i think the problem here is twofold - 1. it just doesn’t make sense. they reference each other, so they exist in the same universe. it’s not like supergirl, which has a separate superman because it’s not associated with the dccu. there can’t be two of the same character at the same time played by different people. and 2. it’s kind of fishy that suddenly night nurse gotta be white now that she (spoiler alert if you care. you shouldn’t care) is romantically involved with mr mayonnaise
