lmao i had a similar thing to your frog lazarus story happen to my pet goldfish when i was a kid.
one night we saw the fish was dead, but it was dinnertime so my mum threw a towel over its tank to cover it and said she'd get rid of it after she'd eaten. pretty soon my dad arrives home from work and we tell him the fish died, lift the towel to show him, and of course it's swimming around in there like nothin happened.
to this day my dad says we made up the "fish is dead" story for attention
It's just Like That sometimes! 😂
My mom called for my birthday and I mentioned that I am fostering tadpoles again and her immediate reaction was, "DO YOU REMEMBER EMORY?!"
Like, yes, mom, how could I ever forget?
is the frog
It sure is.
Do you have any photos of your frog?
I do not to my dismay. Film and developing it was a hassle back then, so we haven't really many photos of anything from that period. That said, it was a Pickerel frog and looked basically like this friend:
Do you still have the frog?
I do not. It's been a long while. But! Fresus was eventually re-released into the wild (w/ herpetologist guidance) at a nature preservation to lead a long happy frog life. If you're ever in the Great Lakes region, you may unwittingly come across their great-great grand tadpoles. Their unique epigenetics are still out there.
not a question but
a friend just sent me your tadpole post, except it was an instagram repost
tis really is the season uh. making rounds even outside of tumblr 🐸
Containment breech! 🆘️
