Could you write Quinn meeting a girl in Minnesota?? Like she’s got a regular corporate job in marketing or something and is so unaware of hockey other than the fact that her city has a team and he’s so endeared by her having so many questions about it
coffee and questions

“But what does the wild stand for?”
Quinn just stared at you.
He was behind you in line at a coffee shop in the city, one where he went regularly. As you were waiting for the obnoxious lady in front of you to order all 5 of her customized drinks, your eyes had wandered to the man behind you. You had seen him on many occasions, usually sporting a t-shirt or a hoodie that had what looked like slogan. Today, he wore a jacket that just said MINNESOTA WILD in yellow and green lettering.
“I’m sorry?” Quinn mumbled back, looking up from his phone that he had been mindlessly scrolling on.
You pointed at the text on his hoodie and looked back up at him with curiosity.
“I always see you come in with clothes that say ‘wild’, “ you clarified. “What does the slogan represent?”
If it had been any other situation, Quinn most likely would’ve been annoyed at your prying. But, between the free day he was having and the genuine curiosity rimming your eyes, he didn’t mind entertaining your inquires.
He let out a soft chuckle and ghosted his finger over the team name etched on his chest.
“It’s the hockey team name- the Minnesota Wild?” he phrased the last bit like a question because he assumed that would jog your memory, but you just blinked at him indifferently. How did you live in Minnesota, the state of Hockey, and not recognize the Wild ?
“I play for them,” he said without thinking. Quinn panicked in his head. Great, you probably thought he was some pretentious douchebag who just wanted to brag.
“Oh…” your voice trailed off. “I don’t really follow hockey.”
“Yeah, but,” Quinn could not help but try and get more out of you. “I mean, you live in Minnesota. You gotta at least recognize the Wild? Or maybe the North Stars- that’s what the team was before.”
You let out a nervous laugh and shook your head no. Boy, this man had such faith in you.
“Oh, damn,” he replied and pondered his response until you were next to order.
As the employee read back your drink order to you, Quinn’s heart was pounding. He couldn’t stop himself from jolting forward and extending his credit card onto the counter towards the employee.
“Plus a black coffee for me,” he added with such an awkward tremor in his voice that you two probably thought he was going through an episode.
“It’s on me, don’t worry,” Quinn whispered to you but avoided your eyes while the employee charged him.
In gratitude, you patted his arm and gave him a smile so wide that your cheeks squished your eyes- Quinn was ready to melt right then and there.
“You know you didn’t have to do that,” you said as you two walked over to the pick up counter. “But, thank you…?”
“Oh, Quinn, my names Quinn,” he said when your inquiry dawned on him.
Not to be cocky, but he kind of had gotten used to people recognizing him. In Vancouver, people would wave from across the street or shout “Cap!” at him when they saw him at the grocery store. Meanwhile, Minneapolis treated him like a messiah. Despite the pleas of their parents, little boys would run up to him and tug at his shirt just to meet him. People would encounter him in the streets or in places and shake his hand with great smiles on their faces; “You’re going to help take us to that cup”, “Glad to have you in the state of hockey, son”, “Bought my jersey the day you got here,” they would say to him everyday.
But hearing your utter confusion about the Wild and all that had to do with him endeared him.
“Quinn! I’m y/n” you said with a smile. “What a nice name you have.”
“Really?” he laughed. “People tell me they like my brothers’ names more.”
You narrowed your eyes at him. “Your brothers?”
“Yes, Jack and Luke. I’m the oldest and Luke’s the youngest.” He couldn’t help but smile at their mention. Man did they annoy the hell out of him, but he loved them.
You smiled at started telling him about your sibling(s) before the barista slid your drinks towards you two. As you picked up your drink, you thanked Quinn once again and your gaze fell back on his hoodie.
“Is the Wild like pro hockey?”
“Well, yes. It’s Minnesota’s NHL team.”
Your eyes widened. “Oh! Wait, that’s the National Hockey League.”
“Yes,” Quinn confirmed with a chuckle. “Jogging your memory?”
You looked up at him with a giggle bubbling on your lips and grimaced sheepishly. “Not really… I just know one player.”
That’s when Quinn lifted a brow. You looked a bit younger than him… maybe you knew one of the hotshot young guys that were tearing through social media. He started silently resenting the guys that popped up in his head.
“Who?”
“The one dating Tate McRae,” you said.
Quinn blinked at you slowly before pressing his lips together.
hi! this isn’t a request, but I just wanted to say how much you make my days with your writing and if one day you decided not to do this thing anymore, I’d miss it. I hope you know how much people love your works, and I just wanted to say to say keep going! I might not know you in person, but I certainly appreciate you through a screen.
stay awesome, and keep being the person you are.
you are more then enough, and deserve so much more kindness then what weird people give you. 🤍
holy freaking crap this is the sweetest thing ever oh my god 😭😭 This made my day!!! I love doing this because i see how the writing connects to people and I love seeing the impact it makes- people like you make it all the worthwhile!
If you ever need anything just let me know! Have an awesome day please 🥹
when requesting, are there any players you will not write for? i always have ideas but i dont want to throw player ideas at you and have you hate them lol!!
Hii! When it comes to requests I refrain from writing anything with the Tkachuk brothers, patrick kane, most vegas knights (aside from Mitch Marner), Matt Boldy, Tage Thompson, Ovechkin, Luke hughes, Cale Makar, and of course anyone associated with the Team Canada sa trial like Hart.
I know this may seem like an odd array but honestly they’re just either players who are in heavy controversy or that i’m simply not fond of enough to write for. This list is who i can think of off the top of my head rn
Generally speaking, I write for most the popular players and/or any toronto maple leafs! I’m also open to any broad requests and i’ll try my best to make it into a piece!
hi hello one of my fave nhl authors, how are you todayyy ? hope ur day is going great n dont forget to hydrate as well ^^

hii!! so i had a complete brain fart and wrote the description as wsh x reader when the whole thing was actually a macklin x reader 😭😭 big mistake on my part so thank you for noticing!!
