Friday Blend Day
I have decided to use Fridays as blend days. Since I've only begun studying and I've only learned about two oils (Sweet Basil and Bergamot), I blended them. Basil is quite a strong oil on it's own...it's definitely got a stronger scent profile than bergamot. When you smell them together at equal proportions, it won't smell like one new oil, it will smell like basil and bergamot. I did 2 blends yesterday:
10 drops Bergamot 1 drop Basil
and
10 drops bergamot 3 drops Basil
In these blends, the bergamot smelled so much like an orange peel. You definitely smelled more of that in this blend. The basil was less tobacco-y and more basil (really, you couldn't even notice the aniseed from the first day).
I liked these two together, I felt calm, clear headed and my working environment felt clean and uncluttered. The air was fresh, clean and slightly sweet. Because these are both top notes, the scent went away quite quickly, but I was ok with that - it was just what I needed.
