“Even at the bottom of your worst fear you'll find a greater God.”

#fridaydevo
It’s 1:02 where I’m at, so good afternoon to everyone! Today in my devotional I was reading about how God didn’t just set rules and commandments because He thought they sounded good. Everything He has said has a purpose and a reason why. Sometimes we just take His commandments at face value without asking ourselves, “Why did God say this?”. God’s attributes and who He is are embedded in the rules that He’s given us. The attitudes He values are in the laws He has placed. Honesty, compassion, peace, trustworthiness to name a few.
With these commandments that God gives us , we are supposed to be letting Him mold us into his daughter/son and in who He created us to be. But many times we forget to put on that new self each and everyday. And there are moments where our old self comes out , when we haven’t put it in check and in its place aka the past.
“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:22-24 NIV)
Our objective every day should be to live as if we are created by God. Strive to be righteous and holy. It’s difficult and we will sin but we have to come before God and ask for forgiveness because He will make us clean again. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9 NIV)
But we have to decide whether we want to put on our new self , whether we want to be transformed by God each and every day. It’s the moment where we decide that we love God more than we love ourselves (our flesh) . You up for the challenge ?
I hope this word came as a blessing and an encouragement to your life ! Have a great weekend guys ! God bless Andrea :)
Song: Shoulders : For King and Country
Alot had gone on in the past weeks. Laws have been approved and passed, violence has erupted, and probably something has happened in our personal lives during all of this.I cannot change what has happened, but I will be firm in my convictions and in my faith in the Lord. It’s literally all that needs to be done. But I don’t just want to be firm in my faith alone, I know that I need to be real with God. I have been failing Him. Haven’t we all?
The goal is to look for God everyday, some of us do, but for fifteen minutes. And He deserves more than fifteen. Believe me, actually believe Him, He does. He is too awesome, and He deserves all the honor and glory. He does. But where’s our focus? Where’s our passion for Him? Our love for Him? We say we love Him, but we turn our backs and accept what this world has to offer.
I want to love God more than I love my flesh. Easier written and proposed than done. But it’s what God is calling all of us to do. God wants us to place Him as a priority, and not just that but as everything. The only thing.
You up for the challenge?
Psalms 40:8, “ I desire to do your will O God, your law is within my heart.”
Challenge for the Month of July: I will post what God has talked to me up every Monday and Friday ( so like a devotional). So a weekly #MondayDevotional and #FridayDevotional . This is no excuse for you not to have your time with God, but I want to share whatt God talks to me about, because that’s what I believe He would want me to do, evangelize (via the web). Let’s do it!
“Our God is greater, than he who is living in the world.”
Have a great morning/afternoon/evening,
Andrea :)
