A stroll through the iconic Pallavaram Friday flea market. Friday Sandhai at Pallavaram has a 100-year-old history. Antiques, bicycles, vegetables, auto-parts, pots, quail eggs, and plant seeds. The Pallavaram Friday Market is like a hamlet with non-resident inhabitants. They pack their bags and arrive at dawn, make the two-kilometre-long stretch their home for a day, and leave at night, only to repeat the pattern every week. Some have been doing this for years. The market’s entrance is lined with gardening-related products such as saplings, flowerpots, and compost. 1st photo: Dried fish for sale 2-5th photos: Market 6th photo: Quail eggs It is a 15 minute walk from the train station to the market. The market usually begins by 7:00am. One is not allowed to take photos of pets. Carry some water to drink. Wear a hat if the weather indicates a hot day. #chennai #pritishsocial #fridaymarket #candidphotography #photooftheday #canon550d #travelphotography #travelphotographer #market #fleemarket #instamoment #instapic #fish #quaileggs #photowalk (at Pallavaram Santhai - Friday Market) https://www.instagram.com/pritishsocial/p/BwcnFY4ltL7/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=t42ee97y3r3u
