Another Neurology appointment! Justin has had some severe anxiety for the past 3 weeks (confirmed side effect of his Betaseron), so we discussed his options. Since he's only been on his medication for 3 months, we don't want to back out now and lose all progress, since MS symptoms seem to be held at bay. It was decided he would try an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) for 6 weeks to see if it reduces the anxiety. Bloodwork has also been ordered, to check liver enzymes are normal. Other than that, he is doing well! Justin let the kids watch for today's injection. They had many questions. They understand how important it is for Daddy to "take his medicine" so he doesn't get sick.
