Chai Latte from New York!! Colazione da Friedman’s 🤤 Consigliatissima, A D O R O !
Why's your favorite sandwich? Mine is a Ruben. Pictured above is one of the best I've ever had. I got it at a little place in Manhattan called Friedman's ( http://friedmanslunch.com ). A Ruben is pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss, and Russian dressing grilled on rye bread. This particular Ruben had VERY thick cut pastrami that was almost bacon-like. I know. My mouth started watering the second it was put in front of me. Also instead of Swiss, this has Gruyere cheese. It was perfect. I will definitely be going back to get this again. Stay hungry, -Cip-
Owner Susan Friedman tells us how the rehabbed facade has brought new life to North Minneapolis's iconic Friedmans Department Store.
The historic images underneath Friedman's windows accentuate the business's deep north Minneapolis roots. The images tell the story of West Broadway's past.
Over the past three years the preeminent Minneapolis shoe shop has replaced second and third story windows, restored its sign and updated it's entrance windows and door.
Fourth Street Saloon is new to the program, but could see the great changes that Friedman's was able to complete thanks to the matching grants. Today, Fourth Street Saloon is literally opening itself to the street, bright eyed with new windows that beg passerby to look in and grab a stool.
Friedman's Department Store before and after they replaced windows, installed decorative photographic tiles, completed tuckpointing and added a fresh coat of new paint and trim around the classic neon signage. The long running West Broadway shoe emporium, open since 1898, is run by the 3rd generation owners David and Susan Friedman.
Friedmans's recent facade enhancement to the Gatzemeier Block building has prompted the neighboring 4th Street Saloon to improve their building.
