Les Jolies Petite School of Dance adds to the unique character of the block.
Juxtaposition Arts continues their work on revitalizing an entire city block along West Broadway with their most recent renovation at 1102 West Broadway.
Appetite for Change held the grand opening of Breaking Bread Cafe on April 29th. This long awaited restaurant is a fast, casual, counter service restaurant offering a unique style of fresh, flavorful and healthy global comfort foods. Breaking Bread took advantage of the facade improvement program to install a wonderful artist designed awning and sign.
First opened in 1894, the historic North Branch Library is Minnesota's oldest standing library building. After and extensive rehabilitation including a Facade Improvement Grant to install new windows, the Emerge Career and Technology Center will again serve North Minneapolis, this time as a hub for training, youth programs, and technology education.
Broadway Pub and Grille opened in 2014 at the former Good Sports location. The new ownership group used a facade grant to help with the cost of painting and installing a new awning.

We sat down with Chicago Avenue Fire Art Center's Heather Doyle to discuss their work on West Broadway and then checked out the fabrication process.
CAFAC has worked on two West Broadway Great Streets projects to date: Dr. Watson Chiropractic and Randy Lane Plumbing. Their durable metal art guarantees a long lasting facade improvement.
Fabrication of Randy Lane Plumbing's intricate awning will take about two weeks and then be installed onto the facade.
Mohammed Tabet's building at Penn and Broadway is tantamount to how the Great Streets program preserves historic structures. Further decline of the property would have made restoration too costly. Instead this building stands proud, looking toward another 100 years at North Minneapolis's five points.
Dimensions in Hair has seen an influx of new customers since upgrading its facade. Signage in front and above the side entrance improved the look of the building while increasing foot traffic.
