Sugar at Chelsea Bay. A project done, the reward? Lunch at Sugar at Chelsea Bay. Summer turned wet, my designer umbrella malfunctioned and there was a queue. The menu when presented did have one standout (for me), kimchi scrambled eggs - with glass noodles, mung beans, topped with fried shallots and drizzled with chilli oil and served with Russian rye. Sounds irresistible. The presentation was faultless. But then diasppontment set in. The kimchi has permeated all through the scrambled egg and the sharp flavours has been diluted. The glass noodles were stranded on top. As diverse as the ingredients were, they simply lost their way in this melange. But as they all say, it’s my own opinion and taste. Next time I’ll have the French Toast (again) or if I find a Sugar Mummy, the 3-tiered high tea. #kimchiscrambledeggs #glassnoodles #mungbean #friedshallot #chillioil #russianrye #sugaratchelseabay #chelseasugarfactory (at Chelsea Sugar) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsmt0szFvQe/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=3d4esco86u5i
