Happy Anniversary to the criminally overlooked and under seen loft cult classic Fright Night pt 2. While the original Fright Night is a stone cold classic and a queer horror staple the second film is just as subversive even queerer somehow (shout out to a queer POC trans woman vamp Belle in pt 2). Charlie Brewster (a dreamy William Ragsdale) is still our reluctant hero/damsel in distress. A rare final boy who manages to get a sequel and sadly would have had a third if not for the tragic death of the films producer at the hands of his sons (the Menendez Brothers!?). This time around Charlie and Peter (along with Charlie’s new college GF Alex played by Traci Lind replacing out lesbian Amanda Bearse as love interest Amy in the original) Original writer-director Tom Holland has been teasing a third legacy sequel in recent years, which would be bitter sweet without the iconic Hollywood legend Roddy McDowell as Peter Vincent but a return would absolutely welcome. Sadly Fright Night pt 2 is currently not streaming and is out of print. So if you have a copy (or a bootleg) hang on to it.
