Camembert, Bacon, and F.R.O.G. Jam Sandwiches for Tuesday Tea
A Camembert Sandwich with bacon, and F.R.O.G. jam (a jam with figs, raspberries, orange, and ginger). This easy recipe tastes decadent and gourmet.
F.R.O.G. jam. It makes you giggle doesn't it? And then ask, what the the heck is it? It is a delicious, sweet and tangy jam made from figs, raspberries, orange and ginger. My husband loves it and has it with every bacon, egg, and toast meal.
When I was trying to decide what to do with the Camembert cheese that we picked up in the clearance bin at our local grocery store, I kept running across grilled cheese recipes with ham and cranberry sauce. So I looked through the fridge to see what I had and came up with this variation using English muffins, Camembert, bacon, and, you guessed it, F.R.O.G. jam.
I didn't think my husband would go for the mixtures of cheese, meat, and jam, but he loved it--and so did I. Next time we get some Camembert on the cheap, I'll be making these again.
Pair this with an astringent tea, for example a first flush Darjeeling or a green Nilgiri.
Fry the bacon until crisp, remove
Slice the English muffin and grill in the bacon fat.
I popped each into the microwave for about 10 seconds to get a creamy and gooey Camembert.
