“she’s a forever dog, you know”
running headlong into oblivion.
living on in our eyes, in our hearts, as forever young;
untouchable.
faster than the wind, head thrown back, voice raised in a joyous yell.
“she’s one of those forever dogs. i just can’t picture her getting old. she’ll live forever, you know.“
and live forever she will, frozen in our minds, perpetually,
as young and wild.
careless and free.
living, for us, the life we, ourselves, wish to lead.
godspeed into oblivion, forever dog,
and may the angels ever greet you.
