I'm more than happy to be abnormal about The Expanse with you. I'm trying to read the books. It's been rough. I feel like Jim's junk getting mentioned should be a drinking game.
Oh nooooooo! 🫣😂
I’ve never attempted to read the books and now I probably don’t want to lol. I just adore the streaming series, one of the few big wins for Amazon Prime. I’m all about those female characters! And Amos!
#idk why but this is so james holden coded
I was not prepared to see these tags on that post, but I've posted about my Jim feels a little too often to disagree.
Had to go searching for the post you were talking about because i forgor 😭
But like seriously, if you want an actual character analysis of why this is James Holden coded, well, to put it simply, the main character trait of James Holden is that he fails so hard he succeeds
My boy was brought into this world to be the chosen one that would save a plot of land and decided to run away into outer space to avoid that destiny and ended becoming the chosen one who saved the entire GALAXY instead, okay? He is a different kind of Oedipus running from destiny and falling flat on his face right into the way fate twists reality to make you play your part the way they had it written, a Greek tragedy forced to lead a revolution he spent his life running to the dark edges of deep space to get away from
I often think of a Klaes Ashford quote about Holden, something like, "I thought he was a crazy man, turns out he's a profit." Because it really brings to light the two main points about his character that make sure Holden fails so hard he succeeds, James Holden talks to voices in his head and looks like a ranting madman, but in the end it doesn't matter, the voices chose Him
Loser, golden boy, broken down and run ragged, running from responsibility, brave but cowardly, naive and righteous, sopping wet and pathetic but strong and fighting each fight like its the last, should have died fifty times over by now and still whenever the universe goes off the rails in an apocalypse type of way there's James Holden right in the middle of the shit.
By the end of the series James Holden isn't alive because he deserved to live, he's alive because the universe tried to take him out so many times it finally gave up, he's the kind of martyr that's hard to kill, bloody and bruised, living despite it all because there's nothing else he can do besides keep going forward right into the middle of the shit and just live
If he saves the galaxy in the process that's just side effects
How's your activity feed, bud?
I am in hell.
Oh I wonder what the wider tumblr audience thinks, let me make a poll is the devil talking.
#never any concern about westerns or james fucking patterson
James Patterson chaps my ass so bad. This is why we can never get diversity in the new books at the local library. This man needs to fucking stop. I won't stop people from reading them, but please, can we give someone else a chance?
omg yes!!! the james patterson industrial complex. i'm glad people are reading but... i mean i like brandon sanderson so i can't complain too much about taking up room at the library but can james patterson readers branch out a bit
I am not sure if this helps, but IMDB said it better than I possibly could have:
ajahsjsh yeah i figured that!! "what the fuck is this?" more in the way of i can't believe the show actually did that. because it's such an absolutely ridiculous scene.
Zero gravity and a vacuum are not the same.
Well yeah, you use a vacuum for cleaning
Zero gravity is that thing in space
@fromkenari liked for a starter
"Do people really do that?" Jisoo asked out loud in what he thought was an Bookstore. He was reading a romance novel. The chastity spent time in the book store away from prying eyes his own safe haven. he was also an Idol so he tried to stay in the back corner of the store.
