Personal theorem: the application of statistics in any new field will be labeled "Technical sounding word" + ics. Examples: Sabermetrics, analytics, econometrics, neuroinformatics, bioinformatics, informatics, chemeometrics. It's like how adding mayonnaise to anything turns it in to salad (eg: egg salad, tuna salad, ham salad, pasta salad, ...) I'd like to be the first to propose the statistical study of turning things in salad. So called mayonaisics.
