Lanark and Frontenac Counties are great spots for old mills and barns.

The first pic is Bedford Mills (complete with swans in the millpond).  This lumber and grist mill was built in 1832 and operated until 1916.  It is now a private residence.

The next three pics are of Allan’s Mill, on Old Scotch Line just west of Perth.  This grist mill on Grant’s Creek (hello, long-lost relatives) was built around 1850 and operated until the 1970s.  It’s now part of a very luxurious AirBnB (check it out).
