He was starting to miss that old curmudgeon, Mike. But he waved it off, as he shook his head. He didn’t want to do the dirty work himself. But seriously- THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS???

 “Tell you what, you bring that fee down a titch,   and I’ll consider being a repeat customer.”

 With Corvo off busy on a mission, with that other one with him, Meagan was free to deal with a few other errands. Solokov couldn’t go hungry (or go thirsty for that matter), and neither could the rest of them. 

  As she walked down the streets, the sounds of music filled the air. It was nice, reminding her of the few good days she had living on the streets, among other street kids and musicians trying to make a living. As it got louder, and she got closer, she stood off to the side among the few that gave him audience. 

As the song came to an end, she took a moment to toss a few coins into his guitar case.

She just chuckled, and rolled her eyes lightly in jest.

“You do remember how old Ana is now, right? Because that’s um, gonna make you feel really old...”

“Yeah- why? I thought you loved being a great uncle?”

Emma smirked as she teased him; she knew he really didn’t have an issue with it.

She sat very still- not wanting her hair to get tugged- like her grandmother used to do when the little girl got antsy. Although her uncle Aaron was usually very gentle when he brushed her hair.

“Can you do a braid, Uncle Aaron?? Daddy can’t do braids.”

He was still a little bitter than his grandfather had barely even asked about him - let alone called. He didn’t think it was entirely fair that he’d been tortured for his grandfathers bullshit.

 She hadn’t really shown her face much since the incident. Since she’d died and the Outsider brought her back, her body started to heal itself. Even going so far to sooth the ache in her hands, and smooth the wrinkles and scars on her skin.  But how was one to explain that? So she stuck to working mostly at night, just for the time being. Less peopled showed up.

 But tonight was an exception. She was almost ready to call it a night when she’d heard a semi frantic knock on her door, accompanied by an infants sob. Pulling her sleeves down over her hands, over her mark, she went to answer it, only to see Aaron, a regular customer and friend, with his young son.

  “Hey- everything okay?”
