George Orton - Torrance SkatePark 1978 📸 Craig Fineman and @gorton22 at Juice Hq 2021 📸 @juicedan @juicemagazine “When you go, and go hard… and that’s the only way you know… you’ve entered the world of George Orton. When all else fails, don’t bail, hold on tight… it’s gonna be all right. Living proof is the man that brought flying on skateboards to a reality and changed the path of how we ride. Thank you, George, you’ve done good!” - words by @mrolson Look out! 👀 Skateboarding Hall of Fame inductee, George Orton, stopped in at Juice HQ in Venice this morning on his way from Maui to Malibu to get Juiced! Have a great weekend everyone! It’s ON!!! “George was the pioneer of the frontside air, inventing the trick in 1976. As a local of Skatopia, Big O, Whittier, Paramount and Upland skateparks he was a master of everything frontside and known for his all out commitment, make it or break it attitude and brutal slams. In the late 70’s George was doing everything from groundbreaking aerials, to oversized wall rides to jumping 22 barrels. In the 80’s the “Wild Man” took a reprieve from skating to pursue motocross... only to reinvent himself in the late 90’s X-games as a top downhill skateboarder and luger, at once holding the stand up downhill speed record. George eventually moved to Maui where he has humbly helped the local skate scene and has taught umpteen thousand tourists how to surf from a legend. Congratulations George, on being inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame (2020). You are so deserving of being celebrated.” - words by @alohaboardsmaui #georgeorton #frontsideair #skate #skateboardinghalloffame #wildman #juicemagazine #thankyouskateboarding #thankyouGeorgeOrton (at JUICE MAGAZINE) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRZ44zwlY94/?utm_medium=tumblr
