Leaving the nest
I potted the seeds around Easter Sunday on a warming pad, under a grow light. As you can see, they're thriving for the most part. (That runt in the middle got mishandled; my fault.)
The plants are almost ready to go out into the world, into the honest-to-goodness sunshine, rain and fresh air. No doubt the relocation will be a shock to their sensibilities but they'll soon come to appreciate the natural elements.
The unofficial "frost date" here is May 15, but more cautious gardeners wait until Memorial Day to commit their sensitive plants to the earth.
I'll be keeping an eye on the long-range forecast.
