FIRST THREE IN MY INBOX GET KISSES ll No Longer accepting
She had been out most of the day, tracking the various eyewitness reports of her latest suspect for a human trafficking case she had been trying to crack for over a month. The large operation involved more people than she was used to, so each time one sighting came up of the men or women she was looking, the more the clock pressed her to take down the next criminal down before they could disappear back into Zaun where she couldn’t follow. It wasn’t as though any of them were dense enough to kidnap someone from Piltover of course- that would attract too much attention. But the people here were wealthy enough to buy their stock, and they thought the city large enough to hide them.
She was emotionally and physically spent, ready to finish up her work at the station and go home with her daughter.
She found Clarence with his head buried in his arms, his slow paced breathing being something she would commonly associate with sleep for anyone else. He must have been tired himself either way, the sheriff having asked him for the umpteenth time to watch Yuzu as she went out into the city. Though the child was not particularly difficult to handle, it had been a long time to leave the two of them alone today.
She pushes the pile of drawings she saw the two of them had worked together on, sitting next to him. She presses her lips against the side of his temple to give him a light kiss. “Hey Clarence.” she whispered, brushing his hair aside. She was certain that her daughter wasn’t too far from him, probably also just as tired. “Thank you for today. I hope I didn’t worry you by coming back so late.”
