“Yelena.” Oh my god where did he even come from. Actually, no, nevermind. Some times mages teleport.
“How do you feel about owning... a house?” Not a bone of subtlety in this man today.

it was one of the more jarring changes of pace. prior to this, was tasked with overseeing an entire organization and ensuring it was capable of preventing the extinction of humanity. certainly no easy task and not one she had much choice in, but one she did nonetheless. but here, this was....quite different. rather than stark white halls, it is a quaint building filled with beauty. and it was something that she had some skill in, which would be advantageous. that and a smaller workforce-- one she was part of rather than commanded -- would require some adjusting. but, at the very least, there is a somewhat familiar face among the few there.
she works in silence next to the woman for the first few hours, looking over customer requests and outlining possible designs. only when it is later into the afternoon that she pauses, turning to look over at the woman. the mage spends a few moments staring, eyes blinking in a curious way. then, quite out of the blue and almost in a comical manner, she asks, “ Are your ears real?”

For a big hotshot like The Boss here, you’d expect a guy of his caliber to sorta sit back and reap in the rewards while the rest of his staff take care of the heavy lifting when it comes to running a very lucrative clothing company.
But surprise, surprise! As a self-proclaimed workacholic, The Boss was the type to get real hands-on when it came to whatever business he was running. Not so much that it would interfere with what his employees might be working on, but more so in the sense that he would act as another set of hands to help out with anything around the shop.
This sort of work ethic was the same when he ran with the Saints back home. He would rather pull his own weight and assist when possible than lie in the shadows just giving out commands to everyone else. It made a difference. It set an example.
Which brings us all the way back to present day where The Boss could be found wiping down the front store windows. They were damn huge things that required a ladder to even get to the top, and he was already a tall-ass bastard to begin with, so you know for sure this was an issue!
Sadly, everyone else had their hands busy with other tasks inside of the store, which was a real shame cause man did he ever need someone to steady this stupid ladder for him. Thankfully a girl he’s met before was walking right past the store, so what better thing to do than exploit having vague familiarity with a person!
“ Yo! Girl who called out my scam! You mind helping a guy out for a second? Shouldn’t take too long. ”

“ Hm? Oh, this? It’s nothing special, but uh--” she pauses, pulling the drink away to scan the label. “-- Tomato and tea! “
Ritsuka doesn’t need to turn to already guess the probably very disgusted and confused expression on the other’s face, but she does anyway. of course, only to offer her beverage out to her. “ Wanna give it a try? It’s not that bad, actually. Kinda like vegetable juice, but with more of a kick. “

“Eugh, this is getting ridiculous.” Four times. Four times now Roman’s almost gotten to the end of the maze and been turned around - first by noise, then other maze-goers, then by a horrible eldritch creature with a spry, English accent ( waah, scary ). The last time he’d somehow managed to walk all the way back to the entrance. Good grief. Helpful as these newfound abilities are, they aren’t really doing much for him at the moment.
Fifth time’s the charm-- if he remembers if is was left or right. “Oh come on! I swear I was here before...” Between the furtive screams in the distance and his own mumbling, Roman doesn’t catch the sound of movement behind him until it’s too late.
“Wah! Wh--Ah, oh, it’s you! You’re--- ah, um. Ha, actually, you never left me a name after your last visit. Uh, hello again?”

his expression is impassive. he is no stranger to theater, all forms of entertainment are a trifle but it is compelling, to arrive and be told to witness the recreation of what he has observed for centuries. the simple act of attempting to engage with such is utterly dull, however, a face from weeks ago shows up. any sensation of tranquility is squashed, only tedium is found in his gaze.
“What a surprise.” he narrows his eyes, habits long ago undiscernible from his indifference. if before his tone carried peace, the vestiges have disappeared. nothing if boredom is on his every gesture. what has resurfaced is the Beast, in all his coiled laziness and empty glory. “Take a seat, I heard there is a play starting soon.”

This island, for the most part, seems rather...empty. Saint-Germain is certain she’s not the only person who’s been brought here--while she’s arrived by accident, there’s probably plenty of other people who’d jump at the opportunity for some sort of island getaway--so she’s a little surprised by how she’s not run into anyone yet. (Though not ungrateful--she is a rather solitary person at the moment, after all.)
However, as she walks about, not really looking for any particular thing, she notices a strange chill in the air. She’s not certain what it could mean, but considering how this place is likely as magical as Spirale itself, she figures that it might, at least, be something interesting. Her refusal to take off her coat also means that the heat is starting to get to her, just a little bit--but she’s not about to admit that to anyone, now, is she?
Instead, however, she finds herself back at the shoreline, now looking at a woman wearing an outfit that puts her typically heavy outerwear to shame. Is she...the source of the cold? Well, that wouldn’t be the strangest thing Saint-Germain had encountered here. Looking around, she sees no ice or snow, and so decides to ask the young woman herself.
“Pardon me, but--is this chill I’m feeling coming from the island itself? It’s welcome relief from this weather, that’s for sure.”
