Two cats, an old scruffy tom and a rowdy apprentice, were exiled from their Clan, so they joined another one under the pseudonyms Birdpaw and Frostpelt. They refused to disclose their actual names. Frostpelt became the medicine cat’s assistant, and while Birdpaw wants to be a warrior he helps out in the medicine den because Frostpelt is there and he makes him feel safer.
Frostpelt - A serious and intelligent tom. Frostpelt is very intellectual and driven, he very much wants to become a full medicine cat one day and it shows in his work, he is precise and efficient in his duties and he has excelled at his training, although his nestside manner could admittedly use some work. Frostpelt has a reputation for being quite grumpy at times, especially around cats younger than himself - Birdpaw is the exception to this though, although Frostpelt can be a bit short around Birdpaw at times whenever Birdpaw teases him or uses Frostpelt to evade punishment, but Birdpaw knows he doesn’t really mean it, 14/10
Birdpaw - An extroverted and mischievous tom. Birdpaw is always causing trouble - and he knows he can often escape the consequences by hiding with Frostpelt - even the clan leader has been known to get nervous under Frostpelt’s unflinching gaze, Frostpelt won’t hear a word against Birdpaw and will always publicly defend and excuse him. Birdpaw loves being the centre of attention and always has something he wants to do or talk about, and is often the one the other apprentices look to, he is charismatic and sure of himself, even when he gets into trouble. Although underneath this confident behaviour Birdpaw can feel insecure and a bit isolated, he feels that despite the attention he gets from the other apprentices they don’t actually like him, so he likes hanging it with Frostpelt - although Frostpelt might be a scruffy sourpuss, Birdpaw knows he’s always got his back, as he will always have Frostpelt’s back, 14/10
