12. Something unseen moving in the bushes

Leaves crunched softly under foot as Sig crept through the forest, bow drawn as she followed the tracks of a deer. It wasn’t hard work, she’d managed to sink an arrow into it’s shoulder earlier and so in it’s frenzy to escape it had left a clear path of broken branches and blood spatters across the dirt. The shot must have been better than she thought though, there were various scratches to the tree bark around and the blood spatters were bigger than she had expected.

For a few minutes she continued to track the path, thinking nothing of it, enjoying the silence of the forest. Something seemed to click in her mind though as she came to an abrupt stop. Silence. The forest here was silent. But…that wasn’t right. Hadn’t she just been using the cover of life to mask the sound of her steps?

The hair on the back of her neck began to rise, something wasn’t right here. More cautious now, she began to quickly follow the trail. She could hear a stream nearby, but her trained ears also picked up the irregular sounds of something splashing in the water. 

Sig stepped out of the tree line, quickly flashing her eyes across the stream before her. To her surprise, the deer WAS there, but she still felt uneasy and kept a careful eye around her as she approached it. The animal was dying now, fallen over in the stream and too weak to stand. Along with her arrow, there were some deep gashes across it’s shoulder and back. “Hm.” The biggest animal that lived in these forests was probably a bear, and Sig’s ranger knowledge told her this was certainly not a bear attack.

A twig snapping behind her had Sig spinning around in time to see a ruddy furred charr pouncing at her, claws outstretched. She rolled forward quickly, spinning around and kicking at the charr’s back as it landed. Up close, she could see the charr was almost more injured than the deer, with a large open zigzagging wound running behind her shoulder. It was fresh enough that it still oozed and her fur shone sticky red with blood. Where usually Sig would probably just abscond, her curiosity was piqued.

The charr was knocked onto her face by Sig’s kick, and quickly flipped around with bared fangs to regard the ranger. Sig held her hands up, though she didnt drop her bow. “Woah there kitty, looks like you’re in some trouble, huh?”

1. When did you start playing?

August of last year, actually, during the Festival of the Four Winds! 

2. What was your first characters race/class (profession)?

My first character was actually an Asura Ranger, and that character is who developed into Pukh! Original name was ‘Milaya Pukh’ based around another character of mine but Pukh has officially claimed the name and now both Ranger and Guardian Pukh have matching names, Magister Pukh (one just has an accent.)

3. How many characters do you have?

If we’re counting both Pukh versions as one, and NOT counting NPC look-alikes (I have a few, they’re fun ^^;) then 5 at the moment! There’s a sixth planned too! I have three NPC lookalikes atm (a Trahearne, a Canach, and a Sieran) plus a key run slot as well.

4. What's your favourite race?

Uhh you wouldn’t guess it from what I main but Sylvari, honestly. I really enjoy the blank slate they give in terms of backstory and culture vs the other races. Asura is a very close runner up though.

5. What's your least favourite race?

Hmmm probably Charr? Simply on the merit that I actually really struggle to wrap my head around their lore. I really love all the races though, so it’s really just ‘least favorite’ and not ‘disliked,’ I swear!

On but I keep everything pretty low because I usually listen to music or twitch in the background!

Bloodstone Dark Coral and Crush are my two favorites!

38. Best memory in guild wars?

Gosh, I’ve had so many good ones. I love all the events I do with my guild, the people are truly some of the best I’ve met ♥ One of my favorites was doing LW stories and one guy died next to a tree... so I helped out and harvested the tree before rezzing.

in game i have 4 - one of which is just a mock-up of my main - but i have many character concepts that aren’t exactly made yet (mostly bc im broke and cant afford character slots)

4. What’s your favourite race?

this might come as a shocker to some but its sylvari

39. Do you stick to one character mostly or are you an altoholic?

i mostly switch between my elementalist main and my mesmer alt!

Sorry I took sooo long on this one, I’ve had the idea for a while but just haven’t had the energy to write recently ^^ Trying to change that, hope you enjoy this.

warnings for abuse below the cut, Aildyn entered into their first actual relationship and it isn’t a good one.

Aildyn laughs, clear and bright. "Stop being so damn attractive, Braham! Who are you even trying to show off to, the fight coordinator?" They elbow him in his hip as he rejoins them on the walkway, flexing at them with a mischievous grin. 

"What, you got a problem with me showing off? Jealous that I'm better at this than you are?"

"Please, you can't even get past Subject 7."

"Hey, it's a hard fight!"

They laugh, and he laughs with them. "Alright, I'll admit it's pretty tough! But it's my turn now. I have a match with… Strugar and Chomper next? Sounds exciting!"

He pats them on the back, making them stumble slightly. "Well, hurry up! Looks like you've got an audience incoming."

They perk up, surprised, and turn to look. The confusion on their face quickly turns back to excitement as they wave enthusiastically at the incoming figure. "Sybille!" They beckon their partner over, and she picks up her pace, belonging towards the pair. Aildyn turns back to Braham. "That's the girl I was telling you about, the one I met at Dragon Bash!"

"She here to see you fight? Make sure you do well in your next round, huh buddy!"

The shared enthusiasm of the two quickly dies as Sybille steps up to them, however, letting out an exasperated sigh. Her hair is starting to escape from her ponytail, and she looks upset. 

"There you are, Aildyn. I've been looking everywhere for you." She speaks in a clipped tone, glaring at them, and they flinch back ever so slightly with an apologetic smile. 

"I'm right where I said I'd be, fighting in the Queen's Gauntlet. I even picked an arena right near the entrance so you wouldn't have to walk as far," they tell her, sheepish but still slightly defensive. 

"Yes, well, you should be more clear next time. I ran all around those dangerous pits downstairs, trying to find you before someone pointed me upstairs over on the other side there." She points to the far side of the room, frowning heavily. "I'm exhausted! I'm ready to get dinner and go home already. Let's go." She's whining, but she doesn't look or sound nearly as tired as she claims, just bored.

"Alright Sybille, we'll head out." They turn their apologetic and sheepish smile on Braham. "Sorry big guy, looks like it's time for me to call it a night. I'll hit you up for another round before the festival ends, promise."

"No worries Commander, I'll run the Boss Blitz in the meantime and get us some more gauntlet tickets. You two have a safe walk home." He awkwardly waves goodbye.

They wave back as they step away, wrapping an arm around Sybille's shoulders. She grabs their arm and adjusts their hold, forcing them to move closer and their grip to tighten around her slightly. Aildyn gives Braham one last glance and apologetic smile as they step away, before shifting their focus fully to her as she tells them where she wants to eat. Already, she's seeming less tired and bored than when she showed up, and they're looking a little more drained.
