He nodded , leaning back in his chair as he listend to her. She’d been here for a  bit now. A true warrior spirit in his mind. “ You see...i think your intentions were good. The execution of it though....” He hummed “ Personally i would’ve done things differently. Now..if i would tell you how rotten i am...would you think less of me for being rotten or more of me for being honest?”  A finger raised to his lip as he waited for her response. In his mind she wasn’t a monster..or sick. She didn’t belong here... she was something this city deserved more than anything. A shadow that will bring the rotten apples out.

 The scratchy hospital blanket did little to shield his goosebumped skin from the icy ceiling vent blasts, but Gaara drew it up to his shoulders regardless. His chest hurt. Everything hurt. Conveniently, the nurse parked at his bedside for the last quarter of an hour served a perfectly good outlet for his frustration as any.

 “Nobody’s making you be here. Don’t you have other patients?”

The words that came out of his mouth met an unamused face. “No no , you’re not useless. Everyone has a use. We just gotta find yours” Her face lighting up before she let out a chuckle. For a small time criminal he seemed to have potential..if he wasn’t so goddamn cocky sometimes. “ I’ll make you into something useful. I promise you that, Handsome.”

It pained him a little to be cut out to be this sociopathic monster when he wasn’t. He did care about her. He did want her to be okay. “ Harley i do care about you. I don’t joke around with that. Ask Oswald. I am loyal to him because he’s my friend and i will be loyal to you because i care. So please don’t say i don’t care about you. Because i really..really do.” It was obvious in his eyes that he was hurt that she said that.

These days Raphael was busy with studying and catching up on sleep though it was nice to have a study group to be able to go through material together. A smile forming on the French man’s face. “ That’s true , often the lies in our perception was what makes us complicit in our happiness.
