Health officials trace the bacteria to ice cream machines at a popular burger chain in Washington.
The Tacoma Frugals stopped using its ice cream machines on Aug. 8, but listeria can affect people up to 70 days later, the DOH said.
So sad. Frugals is a restaurant chain that was started right here in Port Angeles. The other locations are franchised out. These are the only hamburgers I eat. I always add Swiss cheese to my Frugal burger. Hopefully all the locations will be able to raise above this.
