Thumbprint Cookies are a classic treat with a buttery base and a burst of fruity goodness in the center. These cookies are perfect for any occasion and are sure to delight your taste buds.
Ingredients: 1 cup butter, softened. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup fruit jam or preserves any flavor.
Instructions: Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up. Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Then add the vanilla extract and mix it in well. Slowly add the all-purpose flour and mix it in until the dough comes together. Make 1-inch balls out of the dough and put them on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Use your thumb or the back of a teaspoon to make a hole in the middle of each cookie. Put a small amount about 1/2 teaspoon of fruit jam or preserves in each hole. Put the cookies in an oven that has already been heated for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way. The cookies are ready to eat once they have cooled down.
