All Tybalt has wanted since I brought him home was for the Big Cats to be his friend. He loves them. He adores them. They weren’t so sure about him, but he persisted in always being incredibly happy to see them, and I think it has paid off.

Here he is in heaven:

Someone showed me how to do two embroidery stitches and I decided that that means I can embroider ✨anything✨

All right, today I am going to figure out this print inking business. It’s going to make me very irritated lmao so I will document my journey as I go. To give some distance and perspective

I’m gonna use this little carving of the Uffington chalk horse bc it doesn’t have much carved off it so it’s a useful test subject for putting down ink:

I went for a little bit of rockpooling! Saw a tiny shrimp, a mysterious little thingy that vanished before I could peer at it closely (very very small juvenile flatfish? That’s my best guess), and this periwinkle :) After that the wind kicked up and the surface of the pools became too rippled to see into. But still, what a nice periwinkle!

Iiiiiintroducing two little tiny orange bebessssss!!! Tybalt (sitting up) and Mango Tango (asleeb).

We are working our way towards introductions to my two tuxedo lads slowly! They aren’t the biggest cats in the world, but compared to the oranges, they seem… ENORMOUS

I got ONE decent quality print done of about 25 test and experimental prints with three different linocuts. Even the bit that didn’t quite get ink coverage just looks deliberate because it’s a starscape.

I got this and was like “OH MY GOD IVE CRACKED THE CODE” and did what I thought was the same exact thing again… and the next one looked bad.
