How do people without both arms (shoulder disarticulation amputee) eat finger foods (think fries, cookies, chips, etc.)? Do they pick it up with their foot first or do they take the food with their mouth?

That really depends on the person.

Some people will pick the food up with their feet or just take the food with their mouth, sure, but there are other methods as well. Some people will have a companion or caretaker feed them, some will use utensils with their feet (Even for "finger foods"), and others will just avoid those kinds of foods entirely.

There are also some accessibility devices that exist specifically for this. This video [Link] shows how one person uses a magnetic device to use a fork (As well as showing how she does it without the device).

And I'm sure there's a dozen other methods that I'm not familiar with.

Point is: Every disabled person is different. Even people with the exact same disabilities will have wildly different experiences and ways to navigate life.

Are there any realistic situations where an amputee who formerly had a prosthetic willingly, intentionally, and permanently stops using it? (Not "they must sacrifice it to save something bigger" or things like that)

I feel like financial status would affect this, so just know that my character is well-off.

Please note that we don't currently have any amputee mods.

This can certainly happen and actually does happen in real life. People's needs can shift and so can their other circumstances in life, whether that be financial circumstances such as losing their job, lifestyle changes such as moving countries or having kids, or a whole other host of things.

Prosthetic limbs can be very difficult to adjust to, especially if somebody becomes an amputee later in life. Prosthetic arms in particular are not nearly as infallible as most people seem to think. Not all amputees use prosthetics, some use wheelchairs or crutches or nothing at all.

This is to say, if your character does stop using their prosthetic, there are other options for them.

In fact, one situation where they may stop using their prosthetic could be finding a better option. Maybe they need to use crutches or a wheelchair instead temporarily and find that it's much better suited to their needs? This could be because their prosthetic breaks and needs to be repaired or it could be because they sustain another injury or something else entirely.

Another option could be the lifestyle changes mentioned earlier. Maybe they switch jobs and their prosthetic isn't as necessary in their new job. Maybe they move somewhere with a climate that makes wearing their prosthetic more uncomfortable.

Of course, financial issues could be another factor. Prosthetics are very expensive and need to be replaced every few years. You mentioned that this isn't a concern for your character so this is more of an aside.

In summary: Yes, this is something that can happen. They could find something better or decide it's no longer necessary for them.

Does crying feel any different for those with a prosthetic eye?

Hello!

None of the mods have prosthetic eyes so we can't really speak to how it would feel.

That said, people with prosthetic eyes can generally still cry normally as long as their tear ducts are still functional.
