I made fry bakes for the first time with my mom giving me directions over the phone lol. For my first attempt, I didn't do too bad. And my roommates are still alive so that's a plus.

Vegan Fry Bakes / Fry Bakes Patties
Ingredients
2 cups of flour ( I use white whole wheat or whole wheat.. King Arthur brand )
1 tbsp of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of pink Himalayan sea salt
1 teaspoon of cane sugar
1 1/2tablespoons of roasted flax seeds
1 1/2 tablespoons of chia seeds
1 cup of water
2 teaspoon of vegan butter (Earth Balance is what I use)
Safflower oil for frying
Process
Mix all dry ingredients together. Melt butter, then make a well in the middle of mixture and add water and melted butter. Fold in the flour mixture and kneed, making sure to get the flour on the sides of the bowl (add a little more water if needed). Roll into a ball, cover with a damp paper towel or cling wrap and allow to sit and rise for a half hour.
After 30 minutes, dust the flat surface you will be working on with flour. Dust your dough with some flour and cut into four. Roll the four pieces into four balls, then cut those into three or four balls, (depending on the size of bakes that you desire). Roll the pieces of dough into small balls and press flat, and/or roll out with a rolling pin or bottle (I dont have pin so I use a glass bottle for now). Add filling to the middle (you can do anything really, hummus, pbj, vege grounds, peas etc). If you just want to make bakes, no filling needed just....
Add oil to fry pan and once hot add dough. Once the side in the oil is brown turn over and allow other side to cook and become brown as well. Remove from pan and place on a plate or large bowl covered in paper towel or brown paper bag (I use brown paper bags that I save from my groceries). Allow to cool and then fulljoy the goodness!
