Finally acquired two further metal external drive enclosures. Now I can complete my upgrade/back-up operation begun months ago. However first I have to check their electrics.
Electrical goods sold in the UK legally have to have moulded (3 pin) plugs on the flex (usually with an accessible fuse slot). These arrived with fitted plugs. Meaning they probably weren't sourced from anywhere that's used to the market requirements. So I'm NOT trusting some poor fucking Chinese sweated labourer to have a clue how to wire up a 3-pin 240volt plug properly. If there's a problem, these could go bye-bye as soon as I turn them on, as could my fusebox. As could I.
