Did you know that scientists in our Anderson Cabot Center Fisheries Science and Emerging Technologies Program (FSET) program worked with collaborators from multiple institutions on a groundbreaking study on how to increase cod survivorship after catch and release? 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟 Results of the study were quickly used by NOAA Fisheries to aid with improving the accuracy of the Gulf of Maine Atlantic cod stock assessment and generate recreational management regulations to sustain this important resource. 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟 This study was so valuable that former @sulikowskilab Masters student and current Umass Boston and Anderson Cabot Center PhD student, Connor Capizzano, won the prestigious W.F. Thompson Award from the American Institute of Fishery Research Biologists this year for this paper and its conservation impact! 🔬📜 Read the full paper.
