bed rest (Noah), cry (Arden)
BED REST: GENTLY PUSH THEM BACK DOWN WHEN THEY TRY GETTING OUT OF BED.
Noah had initially asked for a simple ride home from the dentist after his wisdom teeth removal but, Ryan insisted on staying to take care of him. She knew he had an entire fraternity to look after him but, it was obvious the moment she’d helped him through the door that they were only concerned with filming whatever silly response Noah had to his anesthesia. Once his brothers had their fill, Ryan led Noah to his room, helping him into bed. “Just try to sleep this off. I’ll be right here if you need me.” She assured him, making herself comfortable in the corner of his room and opening her textbook to get her homework done. It wasn’t five minutes before Noah began trying to get up. “Noah, you need rest. Lay down,” she gently told him.
“Sh! We’re on air!” He held a finger to his lips, completely ignoring her command and trying to climb out of bed.
“What?” Ryan furrowed her brows in confusion. She set her book aside and stood at his bedside.
“Ladies and gentleman, I’d like you to welcome our first guest of the day, Liam Hemsworth!” Noah announced, making a move again to stand.
“Noah, we’re in your bedroom. Liam Hemsworth is not here,” she placed a hand on his arm.
“Ryan, no one invited you to be on my talk show,” Noah angrily replied, gently pushing her aside.
With a small eye roll, the blonde used what little strength she had to push Noah back down. “We’re taking a commercial break. I’ll wake you up when it’s over,” Ryan told him, pulling the blankets over him. Seeming content with her response, Noah nodded, finally closing his eyes.

CRY: WIPE AWAY THEIR TEARS.
The girls’ nights between Ryan and Arden had become a pretty regular event now. When Arden invited Ryan over that night, she hadn’t thought it was anything different than that. As per usual, Ryan gathered her plethora of vegan-friendly treats and made her way over to the brunette’s place.
After she was let in by one of Arden’s sisters, Ryan climbed the stairs and knocked lightly on her door. She let herself inside almost immediately afterwards, surprised by the sight in front of her. “Arden?” Frown quickly appeared on her face, hurrying to her friend’s side. “Is everything alright?”
“I didn’t know who else to call, I’m sorry,” Arden sniffled, clearly trying to collect herself. “I just spoke to my therapist and--”
Ryan simply nodded, taking a seat beside her friend on the bed and pulling her in for a tight hug. Arden didn’t have to say much for for Ryan to understand. Both women had been open with each other about their struggles with mental health. However, this was the first time Ryan had ever seen Arden this vulnerable. “Tell me as much or as little as you want,” Ryan began, pulling back and looking at Arden. “I’ll stay as long as you need.” She reached out, wiping a few tears from her friend’s face. “Everything you tell me stays between us. No judgement. I’ve always got your back, Arden.”
