In the sparks au what's the guilds favorite songs to dance to?
i actually had a playlist for “GUILD SONGS” while writing Sparks but that laptop died and i was never able to recover the playlist… OTL
i remember it included a few tracks that made it to the fic, like Smooth Criminal, Footloose, the Icona Pop songs, Uptown Funk, and the finale songs (Tightrope, Applause + We Are Giants).
individually with their different dance styles, they also have different favorite songs to dance to. i might name more artists rather than songs, actually.
Levy, Jet and Droy obviously like songs that they can tap to (see Levy’s Tap Mix, thanks Gajeel!)
Max and Warren prefer hip hop and EDM since they’re animators. Like Daft Punk, Swedish House Mafia, some of the more danceable Gorillaz songs, etc.)
Natsu and Gray don’t stray very far from those because they do hip hop too, though they have a more free style. They’d get down to Skrillex.
Lots of remixes for the boys, really. So DJ’s. Laxus got those covered.
Gray also likes mellow and atmospheric songs for his contemporary. He has Hozier and Bastille in his dance playlist so. ;) Also! Sleeping at Last!
Wendy, Juvia, Laki and Lisanna all do contemporary and/or jazz but they have really different preferences.
Laki usually dances to instrumentals. Check covers by Vitamin String Quartet and The Piano Guys.
Juvia dances lyrical, but she prefers the softer, more mellow songs. Think Birdy, Vance Joy, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Jason Mraz, dodie, Passenger etc.
Lisanna goes for the faster and upbeat songs. Lady Gaga, Lorde, Halsey, Clean Bandit, Robyn etc. She’s very experimental, sometimes using stripped down version of rock or alternative hits, too. It helps that she can sweet-talk Laxus 90% of the time.
Wendy is still finding her footing and often switches. Lately she’s been dancing a lot to Chelia’s covers. ;)
Mira can make ballroom work on just about any song but she loves latin style songs the most. Classics like Shakira and J.Lo. plus newer ones from Becky G.
Same goes for Alzack and Bisca, but they also love slow dancing to hit love songs. CAN YOU IMAGINE THEM DANCING THE DUET VERSION OF ED SHEERAN’S PERFECT?? AAAAAAAAA
Cana and Lucy are Broadway girls so it’s showtunes for them.
They both get a real kick out of the Postmodern Jukebox cabaret-style covers.
Lucy also dances contemporary. When she does, she likes Alessia Cara, Betty Who and P!nk’s slower songs.
Erza basically just adapts to any song you give her??? But she LOVES girl power anthems. Catch her dancing to Janelle Monae, Beyonce, Little Mix, Sia, Kesha, Charli XCX, etc.

as a group, they dance more hip hop and dubstep. they prefer more upbeat songs because they treat their sessions like a dance party. Bruno Mars! MJ! DNCE! David Guetta! Lots of other DJs and more remixes! Wee!
