Very messy sketch, but Brain of the Oracion Seis dancing with raw Lacrima crystals. Prior to Oracion Seis Era, but also could happen later, only in Jose's presence or alone during the Charun's Gate era.

Gray gets hangry, like incredibly hangry.

But it’s not his fault because when he gets hungry, he gets real hungry.

As an ice mage Gray has increased fat stores (to keep him warm) and a slower metabolism, meaning he can go longer without eating so he’s not used to being hungry, because when he can feel hunger that means he’s already burned through his fat stores and is on an intense calorie deficit.

So he gets bitchy when he’s hungry, but thing is he never notices when he crosses the barrier from hungry to hangry.

This whole thing started when he was younger, he’s never been the best at listening to his bodies cues, and with the survivors guild it only got worse. Not to mention fully embracing his inhuman-ness (mages are not human in the way others are) has made it easier to ignore his hunger needs.

Naturally this leads to Fairy Young feeding him by sitting near him and just putting bites of food in front of him from their own plates. Of course he does eat meals on his own but not as often as he should for a child that was severely malnourished. And of course Fairy Young picks up the slack.

Now because almost everyone is traumatized they also sometimes forget to eat. And because they fed Gray everyone is also used to feeding someone non responsive.

But it is a little odd to Lucy when she gets lost in writing at the guild hall and Cana will just sit next her and slow feed her from her plate. (Not that she notices in the moment) While Cana also eats (from the same fork but Cana makes sure Lucy doesn’t notice because she would freak out about hygiene)

Or when Gajeel is locked in on strumming his guitar and Jet (who is hard of hearing because of how fast he can move) will just sit next to him and hold scrap metal to his lips, gnawing on his own pile of scraps. (Gajeel notices but doesn’t care enough to comment,)

And Carla when she’s going on a tangent and Happy will just hold his paw up to her mouth and listen. Letting Carla hand pick from his paw and stay silent because that’s what Lisanna would do for him when he was younger and having a hard time coping with the guild halls noise.

Either way they’ve been taking care of each other since they were younger and it wouldn’t stop just because they’ve gotten older.

Listen I know that the fan service in FT is literally batshit crazy sometimes but I also refuse to reduce beautiful, strong, complex and powerful queens with their own stories and traumas to said fan service.
