Just a snippet

For one of the drabbles I am currently writing ft @lordofthegoldenflower  

Prompt: "I fear a cage." | Hal to Glorfindel   As much as she loved being around Aragorn and her fellow Rangers, sometimes they ended up being too much for her to cope with. She met the concerned slate grey eyes of her Captain with a faint smile, before slipping outside into the night. A hidden track among the sharp crags and fallen rocks took the quiet Ranger up to her favourite spot, which overlooked Helm's Deep.   "Why do you hide?"   Unaware of the fleet footed elf who had followed her tracks, Hal jolted at the sudden question. Loose stones washed down by rain caused her to lose the traction she had and overbalance. But a gentle grip prevented the gender-fluid Dúnedan from falling off the ledge. Dark grey eyes blinked, before recognising who it was. "Lord Glorfindel."
