Lucius ran a nervous hand through his hair as he waited outside the Town Hall steps. It was 5:00 and universal ‘off time’ by generic government workday standards. He’d had some business with Ms. Kane earlier, but this time when he went in, he made sure to actually pay attention to the name placards on the desks. He spotted the name Sadie Pratt and once he saw her at her desk, he knew he’d be able to pick her out of a crowd. Her fiery red hair made her stick out in a way that Lucius found he rather liked. He hated that, after all this time, he was finally meeting her, but under the most unwelcome of circumstances. He watched as the employees poured out of the Town Hall, eager to get home and he kept his eyes open for the bright hair. When he spotted her, he steeled his resolve, took a deep breath and purposely stepped out in front of her. He didn’t know what else to do so he stood there a moment, absolutely still, his hands buried deep in the pockets of his hoodie until he finally cleared his throat and said, “Miss Sadie Pratt, yes?” He found it best he used his professional tone despite not looking professional at all in his ‘comfy’ clothing. The truth was that he felt more invisible in a hoodie and that’s what he needed to feel at the moment. “Lucius Harper. We have a few mutual friends. I’m afraid I may need your help.”
