Most of the time, when the hellhound took over, Jordan wasn’t in control. He’d wake up naked and covered in soot in the strangest of places. Since the Yuki-Onna appeared, he could feel the hellhound retreating somewhere deep within his core--trying to stay warm. Keep the flame. The cold wasn’t a normal one. The prolonged exposure made it harder and harder to stay warm. He’d been happy at first--mostly because he’d gotten a few good night’s sleep and didn’t have to replace as many clothes, but the novelty wore off when the night terrors replaced the hellhound. Now, he tried more than ever to force a shift. Anything to light the flame and keep himself burning and alive... The hound was a part of him. Hell, it was him. If he wanted to continue to help Beacon Hills thrive, he was going to have to bring the hound back.
One minute, he was in his backyard, trying anything he could to summon the hellhound, but it was like striking a wet match. With one final shove, he shouted loudly into the night, and then blacked out. He had no idea how much time had passed, but when he came to, he was naked, covered in soot, and curled up on top of a very dry and surprisingly warm Nemeton. Happy that his attempts worked, but pissed that now he had to walk home naked in the snow, he grumbled and looked around him. He’d managed to melt some kind of path on the way to the old tree. That was as good a place to start as any. He was a good deal down the path when he heard the telltale sound of someone else in the woods, he groaned, more from annoyance than anything else. “I can hear you.”
