who: @bellamyford
where: the lucerna
Bellamy Ford had always had a talent for walking into a room like it owed her something, even the neon wash of The Lucerna's back patio. The low music, cold night air, and half-smoked cigarettes trapped in the glow of the heat lamps seemed to shift when she stepped into it.
Adrian felt her before he saw her. It happened like that sometimes, some ridiculous sixth sense reserved only for her. He was leaned against the brick wall, sleeves pushed up, a drink sweating in his hand, pretending he'd stepped outside for fresh air and not because the energy inside had reminded him too much of her. Of course she showed up anyway.
His gaze tracked her, slow, unhurried, taking inventory in a way he had no right to. The red hair, the mess of confidence and carelessness she wore like perfume. The look that said she was here to cause trouble or cure it. Maybe neither, maybe both. He exhaled a laugh under his breath, head tipping back against the wall. Of course.
When she finally drifted close enough, whether intentionally or just because the night liked to taunt him, the corner of his mouth pulled into something that wasn't quite a smirk and wasn't quite soft.
"Well," he said, voice low, cigarette hanging between two fingers he'd forgotten he was holding, "if it isn't Windsor Bay's favorite disaster." His eyes dragged over her one more time, entirely too familiar. "You looking for a fight," he asked lightly, tipping his chin her way, "or for someone to ruin your night the way you usually ruin mine? Just wanna know what I'm signing up for this time."
