mack knows better than to interrupt chloe’s work. while he had lost interest in their case studies nearly fifteen minutes ago, chloe is still plugging away. her work ethic has always been something mack found admirable, but he’s tragically incapable of emulating it. he doesn’t know how she remains so focused with everything going on; he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about informals since he first heard about what happened, and it’s only gotten worse since he sat down with chloe. it’s a difficult subject for mack to bring up; though he can feel the tension looming over the entire circlet, he isn’t interested in pushing people to talk about it if they don’t want to. still, he has to try. it’s only once chloe pauses, looking away from her laptop that mack breaks the silence. "how’re you doing, chlo?” he spares a glance around them before continuing. “the question applies to both the work and the art gallery events. your answer can apply to one or both, i’ll take either.”
